Will Taylor Swift be at the Patriots-Chiefs game on Sunday? Why there's a chance

Taylor Swift has made no secret of her love for "foxy Foxborough" and Gillette Stadium.

When she was here in May for the Eras Tour, she stuck it out in the pouring rain for a three-and-a-half-hour rain show. Sure enough, she made the trip to see see beau Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce play against the Patriots?

One outlet reported earlier this week that they'd heard it's a "done deal." NBC Sports Boston heard from a caller who allegedly has sources inside Gillette Stadium saying the superstar will be there. One of the show's hosts, former Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak, also said he heard she would be there.

Others have played it more coy.

In a radio appearance on Monday on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick sidestepped questions about whether the music legend would be coming to the game, seeming a little irritated by the questions as he tried to shake them off. However, he has said he's a Swiftie and called Swift Kelce's biggest career catch.

Could Swift come to the Patriots-Chief game?

It's all speculation, but it looks like the star could come. She's been to six Chiefs games already this year.

"I don't have any intel, but I think she'll be there," said USA Today Network Taylor Swift reporter Bryan West.

Swift doesn't resume her Eras Tour until February, giving her an opening to come to the game potentially.

And, she's recently said in her TIME interview for Person of the Year that she wants to support Kelce on the field.

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift told TIME. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

Plus, her house in Watch Hill is a very reasonable one-and-a-half hours away from Gillette Stadium.

What's Swift's history with Gillette?

Gillette is the first NFL stadium Swift ever headlined, all the way back in 2010 as part of the Fearless Tour. When she came back one year later for her Speak Now tour, she highlighted the stadium in the music video for "Sparks Fly."

"Foxborough is the first place that I realized it was a possibility to play” to more than 100,000 fans “in two days,” she reportedly told the crowd at a past show according to the Boston Globe. “My time in Foxborough will be filed under one of the greatest times in my life.”

Most recently, she played Gillette for the Eras Tour, which included the Saturday night show that went on despite a deluge of rain.

"We’ve had rain shows at Gillette Stadium before but this was a full-on deluge that never let up, I just want to thank that iconic crowd!!" she posted on social media after the show.

What's the weather forecast for the Patriots game?

While Swift has a penchant for being at Gillette when it rains, right now AccuWeather is predicting a high of 48 degrees and partly cloudy weather. There is a chance of rain in the afternoon, which is fitting.

Now, if the game was still set for Monday, rain would be in the forecast, but the Patriots were pushed out of the Monday night spot for competitive reasons by the NFL.
